The Death Spider is an enemy fought during the final boss battle in Carltron's Lair. A different form of spider can be found in each time-region.

Strategy

Death Spiders spawn between attack waves, if the player kills the Mechadusters that come out to clean up enemy remains. Every time you kill a Mechaduster, one extra Death Spider will spawn. The Spiders are very dangerous enemies with high stats, able to deal massive damage to the player with their attacks. They spawn from the same place as the Mechadusters, so the player should greet them with a charged attack to hopefully pierce their defenses.

They provide the highest experience out of any non-boss enemy in the game. Tied with the Dark Toaster, only 3 bosses grant more experience.

A much simpler way to deal with them, though, is simply to leave the Mechadusters alone, as the Death Spiders will not spawn if the dusters are unharmed.

The player can fight against 9 of them in total killing all Mechadusters in the final battle.

Unlike its other variants, it does not inflict Poison and has a very high Hit %. It is also unaffected by Insect Incense.

Player improvement

The player gets a good chunk of experience from the spiders, so if they are close to leveling up, it could be smart to spawn an extra Death Spider, to reach full HP again.
