"Confuses target enemy for a short time"
Confound is an alchemy formula and the name of a status ailment. It is one of Horace's Call Bead abilities. Some enemies also use Confound or abilities that inflict Confound.
Usage[]
Confound inflicts the Status ailment of the same name on the target for 60 seconds.
Characters affected by Confound have their movement reversed for the spell's duration.
Enemies still seem to walk kind of normally, due to how they are programmed. However, they usually do not come closer to land an attack, but may randomly attack in thin air. This makes Confound similar to Hypnotize (or Stop), the trade-off is that enemies may still prove to be a threat but the duration is more than twice as long.
When the Hero or Dog are under the effects of Confound but are not currently controlled by the player, they will behave and move normally, effectively 'curing' the Status ailment.
Disrupt has the same effect as Confound, but deals additional moderate damage.
Miracle Cure cannot be used to cure Confound. Doing so may even cause it to become permanently in effect (until properly cured). This is likely a bug.
Trivia[]
Confound and Disrupt use the same icon. There is one slight difference however, the arrow in the Confound icon only has 2 states, pointing south-west and south-east. Whilst the arrow in Disrupt has 4 states, pointing in all 4 diagonal directions. This is the only case in the game.
